Liberal Alliance's business policy aims to promote growth, innovation, and a more flexible labor market. For Odense Municipality, there are currently several concerning aspects in these areas. While cities such as Aalborg, Aarhus, and Copenhagen are experiencing a marked increase in employment, Odense unfortunately ranks near the bottom of the statistics.<\/p>\n

This is naturally not good for the municipality's economy. According to the Danish Chamber of Commerce, employment rose by 3,500 people in Aarhus and 1,800 in Aalborg, while Odense experienced a drop of 550 people in the period from March 2023 to March 2024.<\/p>\n

This places Odense among the municipalities with the largest decline in employment during the period.<\/p>\n

In the other major cities, it is primarily export-driven companies that have fueled growth, but Odense is not really represented there. The business structure on Funen features few companies with a high export share, which means we quickly feel the impact when consumers hold back.<\/p>\n

In the latest 2024 report from the Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs on business development in Denmark, it is clearly indicated that companies on Funen have a substantial need for skilled labor across virtually all industries.<\/p>\n

The current business policy has been insufficient for too many years, and there is therefore a need for new forces and new visions.<\/p>\n

With Novo Nordisk as a new player, there is a fantastic opportunity for development, but we must not overlook the already existing companies either.<\/p>\n

According to Fynsk Erhverv, Odense is currently lacking commercial land for industrial production. In Odense West, several companies wish to expand, but they face obstacles in the form of a lack of space.<\/p>\n

Business policy can be improved in a number of areas:<\/p>\n

  • Businesses are calling for improved public transport to commercial areas and fewer restrictions in the city center.<\/li>\n
  • There is an urgent need to reduce bureaucracy and improve municipal case processing.<\/li>\n
  • Challenges in recruiting international labor, as well as a need to assist startups. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    Odense has many businesses, but we can certainly do even better.<\/p>\n

    If we are to attract and retain businesses, an international outlook must be placed further at the center. <\/p>\n

    In addition, interactions with the municipality must be positive and constructive. Odense Municipality must create the best possible conditions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    Political proposals for the business area<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    1. Attracting and retaining labor: <\/strong>Establish an advisory committee composed of representatives from the business community, to provide clarity on how the municipality can contribute to solving the problem of recruiting qualified labor.<\/li>\n
    2. Improving business-oriented infrastructure: <\/strong>Extend bus routes to industrial areas such as Energivej and Tietgenbyen. Adjust the Green Mobility Plan so that citizens and the business community feel more like partners rather than opponents. Real change only happens if the solutions are realistic.<\/li>\n
    3. Strengthening the retail sector: <\/strong>Offer tax-free parking on municipal lands and transport options to and from the city center during cultural events such as the Christmas market, Magic Days, H.C. Andersen Festivals, and concerts.<\/li>\n

    5. Better mobility in the city center: <\/strong>Many businesses operate daily in and around Odense city center. They play an important role in the city's growth, which is why it must be easier to carry out loading and unloading as well as acquire daily parking permits. In addition, it must continue to be safe for vulnerable road users to travel in the city center. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section><\/div>\n
